Celebrate Safe

Your enjoyment of Sun City Music Festival is our first priority, and the times of your life are straight ahead. Enter our sunny world with a reminder to have fun and be safe. The health of our Disco dancers is of utmost importance to us. The most rewarding moments are those we share with our community of fellow music lovers. Few things in life are better than the feeling you get when hearing the tunes you love with friends old and new, so stay present and listen to your personal rhythm. Make the most of SCMF '17 by using the following safety information this Labor Day weekend including ample water and relaxation.

Hydrate

All the non-stop dancing and vigorous physical activity can lead to dehydration and overheating. By all means, have the time of your life, but remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. We have made free water available, so you can refill empty containers and keep up the party. Hydrating backpacks and reusable water bottles are allowed, but they must be empty, non-multi-pocket, and are subject to search upon entry.

Replenish vital electrolytes with sports drinks offered at concession stands, or visit the Celebrate Safe booth to pick-up free packs you can add to your water bottle. Better yet, cool down from the heat that you stir up on the dance floor with a stop at our fresh fruit stands serving up tasty fruit, juices, and smoothies.

Buddy System

It's easy to get separated at festivals. Know where your friends are, set up meeting points, and stick together. If you think a friend needs help, ask our friendly staff to assist, and always leave the show with everyone in your crew. Familiarize yourself with the medical tent locations, available in the mobile app and maps on site.

Stay Cool

No doubt you'll dance endlessly in Sun City when we kick off our action-packed party of nearly 50 DJs. Be prepared for the temperature to change from day to night, check the forecast and bring layers of clothing. After throwing it down on the floor, take a break from the heat of the moment to cool down at one of our designated Chill-Out spots. Not only is it vital, it's one of the top ways to stay cool!

Sunscreen

For a sun-soaked celebration, slather on the sunscreen with some protective SPF. Our scenic surroundings are the perfect domain to kick off the summer season for the long holiday weekend, but don't overlook your health in the process. Before you hit the festival grounds and leave the hotel room, apply a hefty amount of sunscreen to protect yourself and your crew from those harmful rays! Why damper your festival experience with a painful sunburn? Apply liberally and repeat.

Be a Friend

Help fellow festival goers, be a friend indeed to a friend in need. Never leave someone alone who's feeling sick or has expressed that they're unwell.

If you suspect somebody is ailing from a drug-related issue, seek immediate medical attention.

Enjoy Yourself

You can enjoy the show without alcohol or illegal narcotics. Choose to take nothing at all. If you're under 21, you can't drink - period. Please remember that your body weight and height will factor into how much alcohol is safe to consume. Alcohol does not cool you off or rehydrate you.

Please exercise caution when you get behind the wheel. Don't drink or use drugs and drive. Make sure you have a safe ride. Take a cab, have a designated driver or use Uber.

Zero Tolerance

SCMF enforces a zero-tolerance drug policy - end of story. That includes all marijuana, even medicinal. Don't be the person that ends up getting escorted out of the venue! Keep the weekend great for yourself, your friends, and all the other fans.

If you suspect that someone is suffering from a medical issue or potential drug overdose, seek immediate attention at one of the clearly marked medical stations, or find a team member.

Medical Assistance

Whether you need to cool down, rehydrate with electrolytes, or could use some aspirin, band aids, or ear plugs; we have medical personnel located on-site. Near every stage, look for First Aid stations marked with a red cross scattered around the festival grounds. You are welcome to visit for any health related issues.

If you happen to see our roaming Health & Safety team around the festival grounds, give them a smile! These workers stay on their feet for the entirety of every event to keep a watchful, caring eye on you! And if either you or a friend has a medical concern, flag one of those friendly folks down.
